Another year gone

Wow.. where did the year go?!!! I don’t know about you all, but this year felt like the fastest year ever for me. Christmas was upon us at a frightening speed with the lead up to Christmas just exhausting,..and then…whooosh it’s gone, the celebrations finished, get-togethers over & a tonne of food eaten. But now I can sit back and see the new year approaching at a slower pace for the next few days thank goodness, and I plan to enjoy it.

I look back on 2008 and sadly see very little achieved in the way of my jewelry making, tutorial writing & lampwork beadmaking. I spent most of my time this past year running around taking care of family matters and although I know I got my priorities right and my children benefited greatly from a very hands-on mother, I can’t help but be disappointed in myself for not being more productive in my little studio. Maybe in 2009 I will get more jewelry made, tutorials written & beads made. I’ll definitely be trying to anyway.

The children are growing up fast,. they have just had their birthdays (and hence why the lead up to Christmas is so chaotic for us,lol), and are now 12, 14 & 16. This year I saw some milestone changes in them,.. and although I know 2009 will be filled with just as much driving to and from school, sports events, dance classes & their general socialising activities as in 2008,.. I hope that 2009 might be a less less demanding of my time/attention on the family front as the children become more independent. But then again… I remember thinking that very same thing at the end of last year, LMAO!

Oh well… whatever way things go,.. I look forward to 2009 anyway and hope it will be a safe, healthy and happy year.

I would like to wish you all a safe, healthy, happy & creative 2009 for you and your families!!!
