Week 6

Third try at this style. Is this Pizzaz enough,..or just plain Spaaazz?
I managed to move further away from what I am trying to achieve,..lost my focus and it took on a life of it’s own, you can probably see that, lol. It took forever to do,.and I’m very unhappy with the makeshift approach I took. I learned quite a bit from doing this,..despite it not turning out how I would have liked, so at least that goal was achieved again this week.

Oooo! I’m sorry you don’t like it, I think it’s the coolest piece yet! It does seem to want to take on a life of its own - that’s what makes it so appealing!
The only suggestion I would make would be to curve those two straight looking pieces on the right more towards the body of the piece.
I’m also an admirer of Issacs work (I keep hoping for a tutorial), but you’ve inspired me to go out and get some inexpensive wire and play!
I’m copying a picture of this one into my “inspirations” folder.

P.S. Also like the photo background. What is it?

Hi Laura, thanks. I bent those wires to the right.. curving them more upward and snug against each other and the piece itself,..it looks better,..more part of the piece now instead of detached. I will post a pic of it again as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for that.

The background is from one of our stone retaining walls that surrounds our garden beds. It is essentially sandstone with what looks like some kind of copper staining through it. Most pieces aren’t that dark,.but some have fossils in them so I’ll try see if I can take the next pic with a fossil.

I envy your skill with coils Remy. I’m still struggling with mine. I LOVE this piece. You are very talented.

Okay - I CANNOT resist this: I just noticed your blog posts are moderated. MODERATED? YOU!?!?!? Ms. “I make all my e-Friends spit coffee on the keyboard with the things I say.”

    ROTFLM@O!

    TOO FUNNY!

NB to anyone who does not know dear Remy: This is all in fun. TRUE mind you - but fun. ;-)

LOLOL,..aw you know,..don’t want to have too many nice comments in the blog,..best to delete most of them hee hee. Nar not sure why it was moderated in the first place, maybe by default?? I have pressed every setting I could find that looks remotely like something to do with moderation, lol so goodness knows what’ll happen now *snort*. I’m almost too scared to press the Submit Comment button.

I’m loving this style of work. It’s very different from what I have ever done. Do you have any tutorials? This piece is fantastic! I want to learn how.
